But I HATE Chocolate Ice Cream!

So, why oh why, did I get this??

So there we were, at Baskin&Robbins, and I was talking with Brian as we're tasting sample after sample, and I see the name Toffee Pecan Crunch. I was too busy looking at anything past the sign (it was toward the front of the case), so I asked for a sample. Again, Brian's distracting me, and the lady pushes the little sample spoon toward me, I take it and am about to put it in my mouth when I see that this is ... chocolate ice cream. For a moment, I shudder. Because I HATE chocolate ice cream. Anything else chocolate I'm pretty game for, but not ice cream. To me, it tastes weird -- NOT like chocolate. So I avoid it like the plague.

But, in the moment, I figure, what the heck, it's just a tiny teaspoon, and the lady went to all the trouble to scoop it for me. No harm done, and I can move on to another flavor.

Except, in my mouth, there is this burst of ... pure, delicious decadence. OH.MY.GOSH! The "name" failed to add that there was caramel as well in this concoction. It was amazingly delicious!! My husband stared at me aghast, wondering WHO I was and WHAT I had done with Gabby. *LOL*

I, too, wondered the same thing!

And then, I proceeded to order two scoops in a waffle cone (as seen above). And it was so, so, so good!!!

So, now, I have to amend my statement: I highly dislike chocolate ice cream. ^_^ Will I be more willing in the future to try it again? Hmm... doubtful. Unless it's mixed with many of the things I loved in this. Toffee? Check. Nuts? Check. Caramel? Check.

Now YOU must go try it, because I know it's just a specialty flavor (not even on their web site)!

(And yes, since I took this picture, I have gone back and gotten more! Yummmm! ^_^)

Somehow I am grateful that I have already brushed my teeth tonight and that it's getting colder...otherwise, I'd be looking for my car keys right now!

Mmmmm. I want ice cream right now. I don't care if it's only just past eight in the morning!

That sounds delicious. Guess I'll be looking for a B&R on the way home!
