Apples and Kindles
Weeks 10 and 11 of my Project 52 had me dealing with Apples and Kindles. Not quite what you think. ^_^
So, during and indoor picnic with my family, we played a round of Apples to Apples. Ever played it? It can be a lot of fun. And, I loved that this picture had the card that said "Zany" on it! Doesn't that describe this game (and families) perfectly?
And then, the week after had us getting our new Kindle Fire. We had a gift card to Sears and decided this would be the best bet for us. It is taking some getting used to, but overall, I think it was the best purchase we could have made (sans something practical, like tires).

I never played Apples. I've thought about updating to a Kindle fire but I still enjoy my original kindle.
I don't know Apples to Apples. I mean, I've heard of it, but don't know anything about the game.
I only have an old-school Kindle. I took a look at my parents' Fire but didn't think I needed an upgrade. Between my current Kindle and my iPad (plus MacBook Air), I think I'm covered. Scott has a Paperwhite, though, that he loves.
Apples is fun, because there's a judge that pulls out a card with a word on it -- in this case, zany -- and everyone else has a choose a card in their hand to represent that word. Then, it's up to the judge to decide on the best one. Sometimes, it's picking the best out of a bad lot. And, if you play with some crazy fun people, it can be a hilarious time!
As for the Kindles, yeah, most people I know have their old one and are fine with it, and I think I might have preferred the Paperwhite, but, it was a gift, in essence. I think, nowadays, it's all about the same. ^_^
