Handmade Gifts Completed!

So, remember way back when I had that little pay-it-forward crafty contest, where if you commented, then I would send you something handmade and then you had to do this on your blog?

Well, quite a bit ago I posted what I made for Christine, and now I can finally post what I made for Reva and Manda! (Sorry gals, that it took so long!)

For Reva, a pair of fabric headbands, thanks to a free pattern by Heather Bailey! These actually came together so easily, that in the same afternoon I was able to make a couple for me. Tee-hee! (Click on them to take you to the larger image in Flickr.)

Reva's Red Headbands:

Fabric Headband: Red Flowers Fabric Headband: Red w/White Polka Dots

And mine:

Fabric Headband: Swirly Blues and Greens Fabric Headband: Kitty Kat

And then, I made some notecards for Amanda, but ... I'm a goober and forgot to take a picture of the final product! Duh! Anyway, here's a pic from my 365 of me about to start making them, so you get a sort of idea. ^_^

2/365: Crafty Card Beginnings

And now I am done! Phew! Hope you gals enjoyed them! I might do something like this again in the future ... but I need to get all my other projects done first! ^_^

Those headbands are SO CUTE! I might have to try making one of those. You think it would be easy for a beginner like me? :)

Kristine, you bet! They're fairly easy to make. You cut out straight lines for the headband, and then the curvy ends get attached later. Hardest part I found was measuring the elastic correctly for someone other than me! ^_^ Here's the link to the actual pattern: http://www.heatherbaileydesign.com/Headband.html.

Suggestion: It may only call for a little bit of fabric, but get more than it calls for. I always get people who don't cut straight at the fabric shop, OR the fabric frays a lot when I wash it, so I need the extra. Oh, and I thought about maybe next time using black elastic, for myself, since I have dark hair, but once you do the little tie, it's not that noticeable.

Those headbands are AWESOME! I'll have to try them out! I make myself little elastic bandannas all the time. :)

AND, I got some amazingly yummy soaps in the mail from some awesome crafty gal... THANK YOU!!! <3 <3 I love taking baths in our big new tub, and these are perfect! You are truly the bomb :D :D

If anyone I knew depended on me to hand make them gifts... well, you can imagine.

Thanks for the link to Heather Bailey! I downloaded the headband pattern and might try my hand at it. ^_^

And, of course, thank you again for the cards. They were perfect--and came just when I was thinking I might need to go buy some thank you notes. Now I can use these instead!

Allie, the link is posted in my comment made earlier, in response to Kristine. But, you can also go to Heather's web site and click on her free patterns link on the lower left side of her blog.
